Aches

These aren’t so Jewish but they make me wonder.

For the past couple of years my joints have become stiffer. It takes about 5 mins every morning to get moving where I can step on my ankles and knees. I sit on the side of my bed and rotate them and crack them. Then I slowly get up and hobble a long.

My lower back aches in the middle of the night and I wake to crack it by leaning forward and stretching a bit. My fingers creak after half a days work on the computer. My neck gets kinks after long days.

All of these just seemed like growing old. Last week I went to visit the doctor. They took my blood for Lyme disease, Lupis, Rheumatoid arthritis and general inflamation. All the tests came back negative. There is nothing wrong with me from that perspective.

So why is it that after the doctor’s visit that everything just seems to ache a little more?

If I ache now, what am I going to be like in my 40s or 50s?

If it gets worse how will I keep working?

It really does seem like the doctor visit made it worse … now I am thinking about it.

I’m glad you had a nice Father’s Day!

I know about the aches…I have them in all of the same spots that you do, and maybe a few more. I’ve had them for about 16 years now, documented by doctors.

You need to keep a record or journal…and be persistent with the doctor/s. You know there is a problem, they are not inside your body.

    Something is going on.

I can live with the aches if I could just tell if something worse is not lurking behind them.

I hope it isn’t just old age. Sometime it seems to be excelerating. I learned an interesting thing though, Israel has an arthritis incident rate of < 1% and Jamaica is almost 60-70%. The factor that distinguishes the two countries is the amount of Boron that is in the food. Israel seems to have a good amount. Jamaica has almost none.

It’s easy to compare rates but pretty much impossible to figure out exactly which factors lead to the differences. You have to admit, that even if you know nothing about Israel or Jamaica, you DO know that there are many other differences between the two places.

Doesn’t mean it isn’t the boron but it just means that it isn’t a convincing conclusion.

As for your aches and pains, that really sucks. I wonder if exercise, like yoga, helps? Not sure what you’ve tried. I wouldn’t think it’s an old age thing. You aren’t old! Yoga’s positions really help with stretching and strengthening.
